Since our start in 2009, the Barkaritaville Pet Resort family is proud to have won “best of” awards and received countless accolades for our pet care but our new pet resort in San Antonio also recently won a different kind of award—for the building itself. Our construction team won a 2020 Excellence in Construction Award! Presented by the Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC), the award process is very competitive, there are many applicants, and, simply put, it’s not easy to win these things. Here’s how ABC describes it:
“The Excellence in Construction awards program is the industry’s leading competition, developed to honor innovative and high-quality Merit Shop construction projects. The award honors all construction team members, including the contractor, owner, architect and engineer. The winning projects are judged on complexity, attractiveness, unique challenges overcome, completion time, workmanship, innovation, safety and cost.”
Building a 16,000 square-foot pet care facility with pet lodging, doggie daycare, professional grooming salon and spa, and dog-friendly swimming pool is no easy feat. Moreover, we combined style, comfort, and attention to detail with maximizing the health and safety of pets and humans. To be recognized for our efforts is icing on the pupcake.
